Fishing and the Hammock Coast are a natural fit. With five rivers, the Atlantic ocean, and acres of salt water creeks; fishing is great in Georgetown County. Saltwater or freshwater, rivers or creeks, off-shore or in-shore – you can take your pick. Our waters have hosted fishing tournaments like the Bassmaster Elite Series, the South Carolina Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series, the Georgetown Wahoo Challenge, the IFA Redfish Tour and more!

King Mackerel, Tarpon and Red Drum are all abundant in our waters and it’s a short ride out to the Gulf Stream if you’re looking to hook up with a Marlin!

Here’s a link to fishing seasons and target species from one of our local guides.

If you have your own boat, there are loads of marinas and boat ramps.  Check out our downloadable guide to Outdoor Adventure.
