When it opened in 1995, Caledonia was ranked 5th Best New Public Course in America by Golf Digest and was ranked 26th in America’s “Top 100 You Can Play” by Golf Magazine in 2004. Golf Digest has further ranked Caledonia as one of the Top 31 “Best Upscale Courses in America” as well as awarding it 4 1/2 stars in its “Best Places to Play in America” 2004 and ranked it among “America’s Top 100 Greatest Public Courses” in 2003 – 2004.
The 6,526-yard, par-70 course has been described as having “18 signature holes,” with holes routed around majestic oaks and meandering streams. In 2014, Caledonia was also recognized in the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play" by Golf Digest and the Clubhouse was recognized as one of the top 10 "19th holes." by the Golf Channel.
