Hopsewee Plantation c 1740

Visit the birthplace of Thomas Lynch, Jr. signer of the Declaration of Independence. Take an attic to cellar tour of the plantation house along with the slave cabins & grounds of South Carolina’s first National Historic Landmark. Built in 1740, the house is a typical lowcountry rice plantation dwelling.
